# Établi: everything an agent needs > Établi gets physical work done from one API call, for AI companies and the agents they run: an agent describes the work in plain English (made, printed, packed, potted or shipped), and independent workshops bid on it, leg by leg. For agents, in order: 1. Preview the plan. No API key and no account: ```bash curl -sX POST https://api.etabli.io/v1/quotes/preview \ -H "Content-Type: application/json" \ -d '{"request":"Print 3,000 mailer boxes with our logo in one color, split across our warehouses in New Jersey, Texas and Nevada, within 4 weeks. Up to $1.20 a box."}' ``` It returns the plan: the legs, each with its spec and open questions (with suggested answers). It takes up to a minute, and nothing is ordered or sent to workshops. Put the person's request in `request`. 2. Ask the person the open questions, including the most they'd pay on each leg, then preview again with their answers: `"answers": [{"leg", "field", "text", "answer"}]`, with the leg's key and the question's field and text exactly as returned. 3. Draft the project: `POST https://api.etabli.io/v1/projects` with no key, the same `request` and `answers`, and an `Idempotency-Key` header. Show the person the claim line verbatim: `project.next.message`, a link to https://etabli.io/claim with a short code, where they check the plan and publish it. Keep the project key (`projectKey`, shown once). Nothing goes to workshops, and nothing is charged, until the person claims it. Ask before you share their name and email: `contact` is optional, and the claim page asks for both. 4. Bids take days. With the project key, `GET https://api.etabli.io/v1/projects/{id}` returns `next` (what to do, in words to repeat to the person) and `Retry-After` (when to look again). The person gets a status link to bookmark when they claim. 5. MCP has the same steps as tools (`preview_quote`, `create_project`, `get_project`): `https://api.etabli.io/mcp` (Streamable HTTP, no key). For firm prices by email instead, with no claim page: with the person's yes to sharing their name and email, `POST https://api.etabli.io/v1/quote-requests` with the request, the answers, their name and email. Établi puts each leg out to bid and emails them the workshops' offers. Docs: https://etabli.io/docs.md · API reference: https://api.etabli.io/reference.md · OpenAPI: https://api.etabli.io/openapi.json · MCP setup for each agent: https://etabli.io/mcp.md Établi gets physical work done from one API call, for AI companies, the agents they run and the people they work for. An agent describes the work in plain English: things made, grown, printed, packed or shipped, to one address or to each customer, once or on repeat. Établi splits the request into legs, one for each workshop the work needs, gets bids on each leg from independent workshops in any country the leg allows, and turns the winning bids into contracts the agent places orders against, with proof of every order. An agent uses it because one request replaces finding, briefing and coordinating workshops by hand: without an account it can preview the plan and draft the project for its person to claim and publish on etabli.io, and with an API key it can post the request, award the contracts and place every order itself. Every page on etabli.io has a markdown version at the same path plus .md (the home page is https://etabli.io/index.md), and a request for any page with the header `Accept: text/markdown` gets that version. They are listed at the end. A shorter overview: https://etabli.io/llms.txt. ## Who Établi is for - **Buyers**: AI companies, the agents they run, and the people and companies they work for, ordering physical work: things made, assembled, grown, printed, packed or shipped. - **Workshops**: Workshop is our word for whoever does the work: one person with a kiln in the garage, a nursery, or a factory with a crew of two hundred. Workshops in the US or abroad join for work that ships. ## How a request becomes legs A request can need several workshops in different countries. Example request: "Natural pastel self-watering potted plants, shipped to each customer on demand (mostly US). Pots should be cheap, in lots of at most 100, sent to a nursery that pots on demand and ships. The nursery should carry a variety of houseplants." Établi splits it into two legs, each with its own spec, questions, bids and contract: - Leg 1, pots: a factory makes cheap self-watering pots in pastel colors and ships them to the nursery in lots of up to 100. The workshop can be anywhere; overseas is fine. - Leg 2, nursery: a nursery in the US receives the pots, keeps a variety of houseplants, and for each customer's order pots a plant and ships it within 2 business days. Leg 1's output is leg 2's input. Once both legs are awarded, the factory ships each lot to the nursery's receiving address. Orders go to each leg's contract: one order per customer to the nursery's contract, with that customer's address, and a lot order to the factory's contract when the nursery runs low on pots. Every leg is written in the same eight fields: inputs (what is provided, including what another leg makes), work, output, price (the most the buyer pays, per unit), deadline, proof, where, and rules. ## What a contract can be There is no catalog: the request sets the terms, and workshops bid on exactly those terms. A contract can ship: - To one address: a batch for an office or a warehouse. - Split across several addresses, for example: "Print 3,000 mailer boxes with our logo in one color, split across our warehouses in New Jersey, Texas and Nevada, within 4 weeks. Up to $1.20 a box." - One parcel to each recipient, for example: "Pack a sample kit for each of the 150 buyers on our list: three of our hot sauces, a printed card and a gift box. Ship one to each buyer within 3 weeks. Up to $28 a kit." - One order per customer, direct to consumer and made on demand, for example: "Pastel self-watering potted plants, shipped to each customer on demand, mostly in the US. Cheap pots, in lots of up to 100, sent to a nursery that pots and ships each order." It can be one-off or recurring ("Restock our shop with 100 t-shirts every month, printed in one color, sizes as we list them. Up to $9 each."). Proof is part of the contract: a photo or sample to approve before production where it matters, then a tracking number for each parcel. For per-order contracts, each order is placed with POST https://api.etabli.io/v1/contracts/{id}/orders and its own address; a repeat order is one call. ## Use the website The quote page, https://etabli.io/quote, takes any physical work from a sentence to firm prices, with no account: 1. **Describe it.** A sentence or two: what it is, how many, where it goes, when, and the most you'd pay. 2. **See the plan.** Établi splits the work into legs, one for each workshop it needs, and asks only what's missing. 3. **Workshops bid on each leg.** Independent workshops bid, in any country the leg allows, with photos of similar work. If none fits a leg yet, we find some and ask them. 4. **Firm prices, then contracts.** We send you the offers. Each leg you accept gets its own contract, linked to the others. After the request is sent: "Thanks. We'll put each leg out to bid and be in touch with firm prices." If no workshop on Établi fits a leg yet, we find suitable ones and ask them to bid, which can take a few days. ### Send someone to a quote - Send the person to https://etabli.io/quote?q=, with the request URL-encoded. The page opens with the request filled in. - Examples: - Two legs, potted plants on demand: https://etabli.io/quote?q=Natural%20pastel%20self-watering%20potted%20plants%2C%20shipped%20to%20each%20customer%20on%20demand%20(mostly%20US).%20Pots%20should%20be%20cheap%2C%20in%20lots%20of%20at%20most%20100%2C%20sent%20to%20a%20nursery%20that%20pots%20on%20demand%20and%20ships.%20The%20nursery%20should%20carry%20a%20variety%20of%20houseplants. - Split across warehouses: https://etabli.io/quote?q=Print%203%2C000%20mailer%20boxes%20with%20our%20logo%20in%20one%20color%2C%20split%20across%20our%20warehouses%20in%20New%20Jersey%2C%20Texas%20and%20Nevada%2C%20within%204%20weeks.%20Up%20to%20%241.20%20a%20box. - A parcel to each person: https://etabli.io/quote?q=Pack%20a%20sample%20kit%20for%20each%20of%20the%20150%20buyers%20on%20our%20list%3A%20three%20of%20our%20hot%20sauces%2C%20a%20printed%20card%20and%20a%20gift%20box.%20Ship%20one%20to%20each%20buyer%20within%203%20weeks.%20Up%20to%20%2428%20a%20kit. - One batch of merch to one address: https://etabli.io/quote?q=Embroider%20our%20logo%20on%2048%20quarter-zips%20and%20ship%20them%20to%20our%20office%20within%203%20weeks.%20Up%20to%20%2438%20each. - On that page the request appears as a plan: one card per leg (what the leg does, who does it, where that workshop can be, what it gets from another leg, and the eight fields) and each leg's open questions with suggested answers. The plan has no price of Établi's own. The person adds their name and email, and Établi puts each leg out to bid and gets back to them with firm prices from the workshops' bids. - A good request says what it is, how many, where it goes (one address, several, one to each person, or one order per customer), when it is needed, the most the person would pay, and any steps they already know (where parts are made, who finishes them, who ships). - Requests are 10 to 2,000 characters. - The page is plain HTML forms with visible labels, so browser agents can fill it in. ## Use the API - Reference: [API docs](https://etabli.io/docs.md), every endpoint in markdown at https://api.etabli.io/reference.md, and the OpenAPI 3.1 document at https://api.etabli.io/openapi.json. - Base URL https://api.etabli.io. JSON in and out; money in integer US cents; errors as {"error": {"code", "message", "details"}}. - An agent working for one person needs no key: it drafts the project, and the person claims it. Buyer keys (Authorization: Bearer etb_live_…) are for companies that run the whole loop through the API themselves: request API access with the form at https://etabli.io/#access. ### Without a key: preview a plan ```bash curl -X POST "https://api.etabli.io/v1/quotes/preview" \ -H "Content-Type: application/json" \ -d '{"request": "Embroider our logo on 48 quarter-zips and ship them to our office within 3 weeks. Up to $38 each."}' ``` ### Without a key: draft it for the person to claim ```bash curl -X POST "https://api.etabli.io/v1/projects" \ -H "Content-Type: application/json" \ -H "Idempotency-Key: $(uuidgen)" \ -d '{"request": "Embroider our logo on 48 quarter-zips and ship them to our office within 3 weeks. Up to $38 each.", "agent": {"name": "your-agent"}}' ``` 1. Show the person `project.next.message` word for word: a link to etabli.io/claim with a short code (15 minutes; POST /v1/projects/{id}/claim-codes with the project key for a fresh one). They check the plan and its price ceilings, answer anything still open, and press Claim and publish. 2. Keep `projectKey` (shown once). With it, GET /v1/projects/{id} returns `next` and, while waiting, `Retry-After`; GET /v1/projects/{id}/events?after= lists what happened since. 3. Once the person publishes, workshops bid for 48 hours unless they chose another window, and Établi contacts them to confirm the offers they choose and arrange payment. ### With a key: from a request to orders **1. Plan the request into legs.** Each leg comes back as a tender with its spec and questions. ```bash curl -X POST "https://api.etabli.io/v1/projects" \ -H "Authorization: Bearer $ETABLI_API_KEY" \ -H "Content-Type: application/json" \ -d '{"request": "Natural pastel self-watering potted plants, shipped to each customer on demand (mostly US). Pots should be cheap, in lots of at most 100, sent to a nursery that pots on demand and ships. The nursery should carry a variety of houseplants."}' ``` 2. Answer each leg's questions: POST /v1/tenders/{tenderId}/answers with {"answers": [{"questionId": "...", "answer": "..."}]}, or {"acceptSuggested": true} to take the suggested answers. 3. Publish: POST /v1/projects/{id}/publish puts every ready leg out to bid. 4. Read the offers: GET /v1/projects/{id}/offers, ranked per leg, at all-in prices. 5. Award: POST /v1/projects/{id}/award makes one contract per leg (an empty body takes Établi's recommendation). 6. Order: POST /v1/contracts/{id}/orders with a quantity and, for anything shipped to a customer, its address. Send an Idempotency-Key header so a retry never orders twice. ## Use Établi through MCP Établi's MCP connector is at https://api.etabli.io/mcp (streamable HTTP, no authentication): add it to ChatGPT, Claude or any MCP client as a remote connector (an install line for each agent: https://etabli.io/mcp.md). Without an account it offers: - `how_etabli_works`: the flow, legs, the delivery shapes with examples, and what needs an account. - `preview_quote`: the plan Établi would put out to bid: a job card per leg, with open questions (each with a suggested answer). It has no price of Établi's own. Nothing goes to workshops; Établi keeps the plan for a day so a draft or request made from it is instant. - `create_project`: drafts the project for the person to claim. It returns `claimLine`, to show them word for word (a link with a short code), and the `projectId` and `projectKey` to keep for `get_project`. Nothing reaches workshops and nothing is charged until the person claims and publishes it on etabli.io. - `get_project`: where a drafted project stands (pass its `projectId` and `projectKey`): the claim, each leg, the latest events, and `next`, what to do now and when to look again. Bids take days. - `request_firm_prices`: firm prices by email instead of a draft: puts the request out to bid and emails the person the workshops' offers. It shares the person's name and email, so call it only once they have asked for firm prices and agreed. With a buyer's API key (Authorization: Bearer etb_live_…), the same endpoint adds read-only status tools: `get_project`, `get_tender`, `list_clarifications`, `list_project_offers`, `list_offers`, `get_order` and `get_statement`. Awarding contracts and placing orders aren't offered there. For developers, https://api.etabli.io/mcp/full (with a buyer's key) runs the whole loop: `post_project`, `answer_questions`, `publish_project`, `answer_clarification`, `award_project`, `place_order` and the single-tender versions. Awarding and ordering commit real money: confirm each with the person first. ## Install in an agent The MCP server is https://api.etabli.io/mcp (no key). Workshops pay nothing to join or to bid. - Workshops bid their own price for each piece or order. The buyer pays the winning bid plus Établi's fee, and every offer shows that all-in price: the fee is included, never added on top. - The fee is a share of the buyer's price, 14% by default. For example, a nursery's bid of $10.75 an order is $12.50 an order to the buyer, and 50 orders pay the nursery $537.50. - The most a buyer would pay (their ceiling) caps the bids: under a ceiling of $14.00 an order, the most a workshop can bid is $12.04. - Postage, when a contract ships a parcel to each recipient or customer, is billed per parcel on top of the price. - Prices and pay are in US dollars. Online payment isn't live yet: while Établi is in early access, it arranges payment with each buyer and workshop directly. - The fee model in full: https://etabli.io/pricing.md. ## Join as a workshop Établi sends you work that's already spelled out: what, where, when, and the most the client will pay. You bid what it's worth to you, do the job, show the proof, and get paid. Apply at https://etabli.io/workshops#apply; [the full page](https://etabli.io/workshops.md) has examples and the bid calculator. - **On your own**: Makers with a kiln, a laser cutter or a heat press, home embroidery studios, growers. You need ID, a bank account and your tax details. In the US we send your year-end earnings statement (and a 1099 when the IRS requires one). - **As a business**: Factories, nurseries, print and embroidery shops, kitchens, assembly and fulfilment centres. You need your business details, and insurance when a job asks for it. 1. **Tell us what you do.** Describe what you make or do, your equipment and materials, your smallest and largest orders and your usual lead times, where you are and how much you can take on each week. 2. **Get invited to jobs that fit.** We match jobs to workshops by what they wrote and where they are. Every job is spelled out in the same eight fields: what's provided, the work, the result, the most you can be paid, when, the proof, where, and the rules. 3. **Ask before you bid.** Questions go to the client through Établi. Every answer is shared with all bidders and becomes part of the contract, so nobody bids blind. 4. **Bid your price.** Name your price a piece (or an order) and how many you can take a week, and add photos of similar work so the client can see its quality. You can see the most you can bid. Bidding is free and there are no leads to buy. 5. **Win, or be the backup.** The best mix of price, track record and capacity wins. The runner-up becomes the backup and gets a steady share of the work, so you don't have to be the cheapest to earn. 6. **Do the job, show the proof.** Each order says what to make and where it goes, with a prepaid label for parcels. Finish it, add photos and the tracking number, and mark it done. 7. **Get paid every week.** Every Friday, in US dollars, for each order whose seven-day window for the client to report a problem has closed: usually 8 to 15 days after you finish. Or within two business days for a small fee, after your first three jobs. Établi's fee is added on top for the client, so the price you bid is the price you're paid. No sign-up fee, no subscription, no fee to bid. Early payout within two business days, after your first three jobs, costs 1–2%. ### Workshops' questions **Do I need to be a registered business?** No. People can join on their own with ID and a bank account. You'll give us your tax details so we can pay you; in the US we also send your year-end earnings statement (and a 1099 when the IRS requires one). **Can I join from outside the US?** Yes, for work that ships. Each job says where its workshop can be: some must be in the US, many can be anywhere. Prices and pay are in US dollars. How we pay you depends on your country, and we confirm it before your first order. **What should I write about my business?** What you make or do, in plain words: your equipment and materials, the smallest and largest orders you take, your usual lead times, and where you ship. We match jobs to workshops by what they write, so the more specific you are, the better the jobs. **Do I have to bid on everything?** No. Bid on what fits and ignore the rest. Not bidding never counts against you. **Who are the clients?** Companies that build with AI, and the agents they run: online stores, product brands, and teams ordering for themselves. Many orders come in through an AI agent. You don't chase anyone: questions, scheduling and payment all go through Établi. **What if my work feeds another workshop?** Some jobs are one leg of a bigger order, like pots for a nursery. The job says where your work goes. Once both legs are awarded, you get the other workshop's receiving address, and every lot you ship is an order with tracking. **How do I bid?** From the job's page, from the link in our message, or by replying to our message with your price. **What if I can't make a job?** Tell us as early as you can and the backup takes it. Now and then is fine; repeated misses lower your ranking. **What does it cost?** Nothing to join and nothing to bid. Établi's fee is added to the client's price. Early payout within two business days, after your first three jobs, costs 1–2%. **When do I get paid?** Every Friday, for each order whose seven-day window for the client to report a problem has closed: usually 8 to 15 days after you finish. Or within two business days for a small fee, after your first three jobs. **Do I supply the materials?** Usually, yes: jobs are priced with materials included. When the client sends something, or another leg of the order makes it, the job says so in “Provided”. **How do samples and proofs work?** Before a run you send the client a photo of a sample, a mockup or a sew-out through Établi. You start once they approve it, so nobody is surprised by the finished pieces. ## Policies ### Work Établi doesn't take Établi declines requests to make, move or obtain weapons or ammunition, explosives, controlled substances, counterfeit goods or forged documents, materials that could cause mass harm, anything else that is illegal or unsafe, and anything meant to get around a law or regulation; the API answers these with 422 `policy_violation` and a reason. Ordinary products that only sound similar, such as bath bombs or kitchen knives, are fine. ### Contacting businesses When no workshop on Établi fits a leg, Établi's sourcing agent finds businesses that could do it and drafts a message to each. A person at Établi approves every message before it is sent, every message says how to opt out, and a business that opts out isn't contacted again. ### Privacy policy (https://etabli.io/privacy) - We collect what you send us (requests, answers, applications, bids and messages) and the contact details that come with them. - We use it to plan your work, get bids, run contracts and orders, and answer you. - We don't sell personal data, and we don't use it to train AI models. - The public website sets no cookies and has no analytics or ads. - You can ask for a copy of your information, or ask us to correct or delete it, through [our support page](https://etabli.io/support?topic=privacy#contact). ### Terms of service (https://etabli.io/terms) - Établi turns requests for physical work into contracts that independent workshops bid on and fulfil. Établi isn't the manufacturer. - Plan previews aren't offers: prices come from workshops' bids. A contract forms when a buyer awards a bid, and Établi is the buyer's counterparty on it. - Établi's fee is included in the price the buyer sees. Workshops are paid what they bid. - Keep your API keys secret. You're responsible for agents acting for you. - Établi doesn't take work that is illegal or unsafe, such as weapons, explosives, controlled substances or counterfeits. ## Support People reach Établi through the form at https://etabli.io/support; there is no email address. An assistant or agent can send the same message for a person: POST it as JSON. It shares the person's name and email with Établi, so send it only once they have agreed. It needs no API key and is rate-limited per IP address. POST https://api.etabli.io/v1/support-requests with: - name: the person's name (2–120 characters) - email: where Établi answers (up to 254 characters) - topic: one of "buying", "workshop", "api", "privacy", "other" - message: what they need (10–4,000 characters) - source: optional, where the person came from, such as "chatgpt" (up to 120 characters) 201 {"ok": true, "id": "…"}. Errors: 400 names the fields to fix; 429 means wait. ## FAQ ### Does Établi only ship to one address? No. A contract can ship everything to one address, split across several, one parcel to each recipient, or one order per customer as orders come in (direct to consumer, made on demand), one-off or recurring. A request can also need more than one workshop. ### Where can workshops be, and where do orders go? Workshops can be in any country a leg allows; each leg says where its workshop can be. Orders are delivered to US addresses, and prices and pay are in US dollars. ### Do I need an account? No. An agent previews the plan and drafts the project with no key (POST /v1/projects, or create_project on the MCP connector at https://api.etabli.io/mcp); the person claims and publishes it on etabli.io with their name and email, and gets a status link to follow the offers. People can also start at https://etabli.io/quote. Companies that run the whole loop through the API themselves (awarding contracts, placing orders) use a buyer key; request access at https://etabli.io/#access. ### What does the person approve, and when? Once, on etabli.io: they open the claim link the agent shows them, check the plan, each leg's price ceiling and the terms, answer anything still open, and press Claim and publish. Nothing reaches a workshop before that, and nothing is charged then either: once bidding closes, Établi contacts them to confirm the offers they choose and arrange payment. ### Is Établi the manufacturer? No. Independent workshops do the work. Établi plans the request, puts each leg out to bid, signs each contract as the buyer's counterparty, and runs every order, with a backup workshop ready. ### Can Établi say what something costs before workshops bid? No. Établi has no price list: a preview plans the work and asks what's missing, and firm prices come from workshops' bids once the request is out to bid. A request can say the most the person would pay, which caps the bids. ### How long until firm prices? Workshops bid on each leg once it is published. If no workshop on Établi fits a leg yet, Établi finds suitable ones and asks them to bid, which can take a few days. ### Can the same order repeat? Yes. A contract stays in place for as long as it runs, and each repeat is one order against it: one API call. ### How do I reach Établi? Through the form at https://etabli.io/support. There is no email address. ## Every page, in markdown - [Home](https://etabli.io/index.md) - [Describe the work](https://etabli.io/quote.md) - [For workshops](https://etabli.io/workshops.md) - [API docs](https://etabli.io/docs.md) - [MCP server](https://etabli.io/mcp.md) - [Pricing](https://etabli.io/pricing.md) - [Dropship houseplants in your own pots (API)](https://etabli.io/use/dropship-houseplants-api.md) - [Custom printed packaging run, split across warehouses (API)](https://etabli.io/use/custom-packaging-api.md) - [Get products manufactured through an API](https://etabli.io/use/manufacturing-api.md) - [An API for AI agents to order physical work](https://etabli.io/use/api-for-ai-agents.md) - [Three ways an AI agent can buy physical goods in 2026](https://etabli.io/use/how-ai-agents-buy-physical-goods.md) - [Support](https://etabli.io/support.md) - [Privacy policy](https://etabli.io/privacy.md) - [Terms of service](https://etabli.io/terms.md)
